Meet the Doctors
Kourosh Kianpour, DDS
Kourosh Kianpour moved to the Washington, DC area in 1994 to attend the University of Maryland Dental School. After receiving his dental degree in 1999, he completed a rigorous one-year postdoctoral residency in Advanced General Dentistry and a one-year externship in comprehensive patient care with an emphasis in crowns and bridges. He worked for four years as an associate dentist in Rockville, Germantown, and Wheaton, Maryland before starting his own practice.
Of Iranian descent and first educated at an international school in India and then a small liberal arts college in the Midwest, Dr. Kianpour has developed a global, cross-cultural perspective that he finds invaluable when interacting with his patients.
“I have a simple philosophy for my practice, treating all my patients as if I were the one in the chair,” he says. “I educate them, provide them with treatment options, and help them take an active role in making decisions about their health care. Although creating beautiful smiles and showing patients how to enhance their smiles is something I really enjoy, the philosophy behind my work is more important than simply fixing teeth.”
Dr. Kianpour has seen himself working in the health care profession since he was young. “Helping other people has always given me tremendous personal satisfaction,” he says. “My father was a pharmacist, and several others in my family were also health care professionals. Dentistry, an ideal blend of art and science, was most appealing to me.”
Dr. Kianpour lives with his wife in Leesburg, Va. They enjoy a number of outdoor activities, sports, cooking, and spending quality time with close friends and family. Dr. Kianpour is an avid soccer fan and continues to play whenever he can.
Mojgan Partovi, DDS
Mojgan Partovi has been living in the Washington, DC area since 1991. She hails from a family of dentists. Becoming a dentist was a simple decision for her.
Upon her arrival to the area she attended the University of Maryland where she graduated magna cum laude. She then received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore. She has also completed a rigorous one-year residency program in Advanced General Dentistry. Dr. Partovi has been in private practice since graduating from dental school in 2000.
She has a keen interest in cosmetic dentistry through her strong commitment to continuing education and keeping abreast of the most current techniques and treatment advances. But what really makes Dr. Partovi unique is her warm, caring, and friendly chair side manner. It is her innate warmth, patience, sincerity, and compassion that makes the difference in the care she provides to her patients and has made her practice grow.
Dr. Partovi is a licensed dentist in both the states of Virginia and Maryland and is recognized for her accomplishments by the North East Regional Boards (NERBS) and Southern Regional Testing Agency (SRTA).
Meet the Team
Nancy, Dental Assistant
A real dental pro, Nancy was educated at Indian River Community College in Florida and has been in dentistry for over 30 years! Says Nancy, “I love helping people and making them feel comfortable. I also love working with the great people on my team!”
She feels that one of the most unique things about PK Dentistry is the fact that it is run by a caring husband and wife team. Patients see both doctors and are able to get two professional opinions, while also benefiting from the comfort and quality dentistry the doctors provide. Nancy has joined us from NY where she sang in her church’s contemporary choir, something she would like to get back into one day. She loves to cook and has two grown children.
Tracy, Office Manager
Tracy’s is the friendly and welcoming voice you hear when you first call our office. As office manager, she is the one who keeps everything running smoothly here at PK Dentistry, from helping you schedule your appointment to submitting your dental insurance. She couldn’t be more satisfied with her work and says,”The patients that I have had the pleasure of really getting to know are wonderful people. They are the type who would do anything for you. And as far as the doctors go, I have never worked with people who are as caring, understanding, and loyal as they are. They are the reason I drive 63 miles one way to work everyday! They are family! As for the two assistants, they are like my sisters!” Another part of her love for the practice is the unsurpassed care the team offers patients. They really get to know patients as individuals and will do anything to help a patient find a healthy, beautiful smile.
